Molly Caldwell, MA, LPC-A
Eating Disorder and Trauma Specialist with Expressive Arts

Molly’s therapeutic approach is rooted in collaboration, resiliency, and compassion. She believes healing is not a linear process and is unique to each individual. She is passionate about facilitating a safe environment that allows individuals to explore their own path to self-discovery. She uses experiential, body-based, cognitive, and behavioral approaches in her work. Molly works with teens and adults who have experienced trauma, loss, and eating disorder.

Molly was born in North Carolina and grew up in Coastal Northern Florida. She studied psychology at the University of North Carolina Asheville, and entered the healing field as an intern at CooperRiis Healing Community. During her time at CooperRiis, Molly experienced the power of healing in community. It was during this time that her interest in holistic, integrative care became apparent.

In need of diversity and challenge, Molly left CooperRiis and traveled to South America. She volunteered at San Juan de Dios, a regional hospital, and assisted the nurses in caring for physically disabled children who had been abandoned. Her experiences working with these children, along side such devoted and hard working individuals affirm her soul’s work as a healer.

After returning from her travels, and with new clarity, Molly settled back in North Carolina and enrolled in Appalachian State University’s school of Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She studied Expressive Arts Therapy and Body-based techniques such as mindfulness, various breathing techniques, and movement. She graduated with her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2017.

Since graduating, Molly has been facilitating therapy groups and individual counseling sessions at Tapestry Eating Disorder Treatment Center of WNC. At Tapestry, Molly’s expressive arts approach gave dozens of individuals the chance to engage their body in healthy ways and uncover their truest voice.

Outside of work, Molly spends much of her time caring for her indoor and outdoor plants and dearest cat. She enjoys cooking yummy meals, hiking and sitting in nature, reading, and spending quality time with others.
